PROJECT OVERVIEW
For the past year, I've freelanced with GLO, an Edinburgh-based media company specializing in corporate and business videos. This collaboration has given me valuable experience in international productions, fast-paced event coverage, and advanced lighting setups. Each project has presented unique challenges and learning opportunities, allowing me to refine both my technical abilities and teamwork skills.
NABLE EMPOWER 2024
A highlight of my work with GLO was a week-long shoot in Frisco, Texas, for N-able Empower 2024. This was my first international team experience, and it gave me valuable insight into GLO's workflow and operations. My roles were varied, from operating tripod cameras for presentations to setting up and filming interviews. I also managed podcast room setups and filmed highlight videos using gimbals and handheld cameras. This experience not only strengthened my technical skills but also solidified my ongoing collaboration with the GLO team.
INTERNATIONAL GIGS
After Texas, GLO continued to give me opportunities on international projects, including assignments in Cannes, Barcelona, Bristol, and Brighton. Covering the RCGP Annual Conference in Liverpool was particularly valuable. Working alongside Chris, a senior member of the GLO team, I took full responsibility for all the shooting, capturing event highlights and interviews independently while he handled on-site editing. This challenging but rewarding experience demonstrated GLO's trust in my abilities and boosted my confidence in running event shoots solo.
CONVERGE INTERVIEWS
Another key project involved a series of interviews for Converge using a virtual background setup. This was a new and technically demanding experience, requiring me to ensure consistent lighting across various subjects and backgrounds. Both Chris and Radim entrusted me with managing the lighting, and I was thrilled with the final results. This project significantly advanced my understanding of controlled lighting and composition, making it one of my most enjoyable shoots with GLO.
